What is a fruit?
Regularly, in cuisine, when discussing fruits, you refer to them as food, those parts of the plant that are sweet and fleshy. However, a great many common vegetables, as well as nuts and grains, are the fruit of that plant species. Rarely, a culinary “fruit” is not a true one in the botanical sense (ex. the carrot, the rhubarb).
